Rachel (Briarley Images Photography) was great to work with. We hired her for our destination wedding in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico and she did not disappoint. She has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting, and expressions and was able to capture some captivating photographs that we will treasure forever. We never thought we would have pictures as beautiful as we do and we are so thankful for the work that she did. My husband and I cannot recommend Rachel enough, whether it’s a local wedding or destination wedding.
Rachel was a dream to work with and made sure that every important moment was captured. We started working with her over a year before our wedding for our engagement pictures and we could not have been more thrilled. Fast-forward to the wedding and she was truly more than just a photographer. It felt like a close friend was a part of our whole weekend at Rixey Manor. She did everything possible to make sure that she was capturing "us" even going so far as to work with smoke bombs to help us create some really cool wedding shots. She made sure we were comfortable and able to get all of the shots we wanted along with all the ones she knew we would want as well. Us and our family could not be more thrilled with how the pictures turned out and the entire experience overall. We have recommended her to many people (it's how we found her as well) and will continue to highly recommend her.

For our engagement photo session, Rachel helped make the event equally playful and romantic, like us. Where do I even begin? Rachel is absolutely amazing! From first initial contact to our stunning engagement pictures. I feel blessed to have found her. She makes the process of booking, signing the contract super easy and puts in extreme effort to get to know you. I can’t tell you how important it is for us that she took the time to get to know us! My fiancé and I are very compatible and like to do our own thing. During our engagement shoot I could feel Rachel matching our vibe which was huge for us to feel so comfortable in front of the camera! Last but not least, we brought our dog Sonny along for our engagement pictures and she did such an amazing job with him! It all means so much! We are very much looking forward to her capturing our big day! It is going to be amazing!
When we reached out to postpone our wedding due to COVID concerns, Rachel was so understanding and flexible. She was able to reschedule both our engagement shoot and wedding day services without a hitch. I really appreciate how Rachel took the time to get to know my husband and me better so that our photos could capture our personality. She gave us a wonderful impromptu training session on how to pose and take candid pictures. There are so many wonderful things I could share about Rachel from her reasonable cost of services to her professionalism and on-time arrival to our venue. If I ever need a photographer in the future, I will be sure to contact Rachel again.
I can’t say enough about Rachael and the job she did at our wedding. During such a hectic day of running around, Rachael put us at ease and made the experience memorable and special (this is coming from someone who doesn’t like taking photos!). I felt like her work after our ceremony was the one time during the day for us to catch our breath and enjoy the moment. She really facilitated that and it comes through in the photos. Rachael was flexible with us and went above and beyond to get the shots we wanted. She was also direct enough to capture the shots she thought would turn out best and that balance was fantastic and very much appreciated. We will absolutely work with her in the future because she did such a a great job. She’s a professional. She’s an artist. She should be who you hire for your wedding or next special occasion.

She had a plan and got all the formal and informal photos we wanted. The flash drive of pictures is a wonderful touch and makes pictures after the wedding easily accessible. Rachel was also super fast with getting the photos back to us. Really 5 stars is not enough. She is wonderful and definitely the right choice for your event.
Wow! We had such an amazing experience working with Rachel. My husband and I procrastinated on picking a photographer, but as soon as we met Rachel, we felt such a relief - she was very understanding and patient with us; she really helped guide the process. She has a down-to-earth personality and really has fun with her couples. We did two photoshoots with her; the engagement shots and, obviously, the wedding. Each time we faced a bit of inclement weather, but Rachel made everything work. We started with Skyline Drive for our engagement photos. There was a bit of a storm at first, but the evening turned into the most incredible sunset. Rachel whisked us away to a little spot she knew of that took advantage of the situation and the photos turned out wonderfully. She really understands how to embrace any circumstance. If you go through her online photos, you can see a picture of me in my orange dress silhouetted against the sunset (my fav). I was amazed at her spontaneity during our shoots because she was constantly finding fun new ways to take our pictures. Our wedding timeline got turned upside down and on it’s head in the beginning, but we were happy with how the time was utilized given the circumstances. We never felt like we were missing out on our big day to take photos, and we didn’t feel stressed – even when we knew photos were being rushed at moments, Rachel made it fun for everyone involved. Her second shooter for the wedding, Brooke, was just as lovely. They were a great team, and my girls loved both of them. They seemed to be having just as much fun as we were. What really set Rachel apart from other photographers that we interviewed was how personable and relatable she was when we first met. Even before the first picture was shot, we knew she understood what we were looking for and we felt comfortable – just like we’re hanging out with a friend. Meet Rachel at a brewery, have a beer, look at her samples, and try not to hire her.
My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Briarley Images! Rachel was a delight to work with from start to finish. She was unbelievably helpful and understanding when we had to make (multiple!!) adjustments to event days and timing during the course of the pandemic. She is a top-notch photographer and our photos from the event are perfect. She has an amazing and convivial team that works with her and they managed to capture every shot we wanted (plus dozens more that we never knew we needed!). I highly recommend that you book her quickly, before her schedule fills up and your date is gone. This is one decision you won’t have to think twice about. Top things I loved: she has extraordinary communication skills (great for stressed-out brides!), she is impeccably organized and detail-oriented (great for pandemic brides with decision fatigue from rescheduling!), and she kept me smiling and laughing all day even as major event disasters continued to pile up (Rachel is basically a magician). Our photos are absolutely stunning. <3 I would 100% book with Rachel again for any photography needs in the DC area. Rachel is an incredibly talented photographer. I hired her to do my bridal portraits (the same day as my makeup and hair trial before the wedding), and she hit it out of the park with the pictures she got! Despite that it was her first time shooting bridal portraits, the result was amazing, and her pricing was more than reasonable. I've never felt more beautiful and natural in photos before, even with my makeup and hair done, and she totally understood my vision! I opted to take my bridal portraits in my own home with my cat (fur baby). As an animal lover herself, she also got excellent pictures of my cat and I could tell she was genuinely enjoying herself! We also hired Rachel as our second shooter for our wedding and she did a great job with the detail shots, and even got some excellent shots that our main photographer did not! Rachel is super laid back and easygoing, and was ideal to have on my wedding day! Hire her :) You will get more much than your money's worth!
Rachel is an amazing photographer but also a friend since. She made our wedding a night to remember to the point where she felt more like a guest. She really got to know me and my husband and our wants and needs. She made our wedding and photos an easy event. I’m exponentially happy with our wedding photos. I also did my bridal shoot and engagement pictures with her. I could not have been happier in my choice of photographers.

Rachel(and Chris) with Briarley Images were absolutely amazing! Rachel was always available to answer any silly questions we had, was professional but also fun and made the whole process a ton of fun. We did our engagement shoot in Richmond and she was more than willing to make the drive to catch the beautiful scenery at the gardens we chose and we were so pleased with the results of those photos. Even better, the wedding photos are absolutely perfect. Her and Chris did such a great job capturing the beauty of our venue and each and every shot we wanted and more. So much fun to work with, a great deal and an overall awesome photographer! You won't be disappointed.
